If you haven't heard us talking about Have a Heart Month yet... first of all, where have you been?! And second, we're happy you're here now to hear about it!
February is a big fundraising month to us and every donation we receive goes directly to the heartworm treatment for animals entering Maury County Animal Services. We are not exaggerating when we say that your donations help save lives. Koda (formerly "Luke") and Pete, Jr. (featured above) are prime examples of how important this work is to us. They each entered the shelter heartworm positive (which could be excruciatingly painful and deadly if left untreated), and we received word recently that their latest tests showed that they were officially heartworm-free and are now thriving in their new homes! Your support provides us the means to purchase treatment for these animals in pain.
We urge you to learn more about heartworm and what steps you can take to keep your animals healthy. Thank you to everyone who continues to make a difference in the lives of these animals!
